The Catholic Certificate in Religious Studies (CCRS) is a national course which aims to enable participants to acquire the basic knowledge needed by those who wish to contribute actively to Catholic education, for example as catechists or teachers. Although the course has practical elements, it should not be regarded as a course in ‘How to teach’ but rather as providing the theological foundation on which practical expertise can be developed.
