The Governors are looking to appoint an excellent and enthusiastic Assistant Headteacher to join and support our Senior Leadership Team in leading our school onto its next stage of a journey towards excellence. Our school has a strong Catholic ethos at its heart in the daily strive for excellence and greatness.

The successful candidate will work in partnership with the Headteacher, Assistant Headteacher and Governing Body to build on the achievements of the school. They will be someone who is a highly motivated, dynamic and caring individual.

In December 2017, English Martyrs’ was described by OFSTED as a place where ‘the curriculum is stimulating and enriched with opportunities for pupils to broaden their learning‘ and where ‘Teachers receive good support from senior colleagues and high-quality professional development opportunities to improve their practice further‘, where ‘Pupils swiftly gain confidence as learners in the school’s warm and stimulating classrooms. They respond well to instructions and are unafraid to contribute their views in class discussions.

We are seeking to appoint an Assistant Headteacher who will:
– Have excellent teaching skills and a passion and commitment to ensure that every child reaches their full potential.
– Be committed to maintaining the Catholic ethos in the school.
– Have the ability to take a key role in the management of the school, supporting in leading school improvements with clear vision and excellent communication.
– Lead KS1 and EYFS, providing coaching, mentoring and support for all, children and staff.
– Have the ability to support, lead and inspire children, parents, colleagues and Governors.
– Take a leading role in the professional development of all staff within their team.
– Be an integral part of our dynamic, forward thinking leadership team.
– Be dedicated, enthusiastic and have a good sense of humour.
